Happy Birthday, Matthias!

Well, we did it! Matthias is officially one year old today!!! We had a little party yesterday (Sunday) with the grandparents. Unforunately, Matthias came down with a virus on Saturday and was in pretty rough shape Saturday night (his first ER visit) and Sunday. He rallied a little bit for the party, but didn't enjoy it as much as we hoped :(   

We did a vegetable garden theme because he has a few books about gardens that he loves!

It was a big hit. He was sitting pretty lethargically (is that a word?) until dad walked in with the balloons! We got a few smiles out of it... which were hard to come by yesterday.

Today he was doing a little better by the afternoon, so when daddy came home from work he put together the ridding giraffe from gma and gpa Kohn, we gave him his final present and he even managed to play with his cake and eat a little frosting. You can see he still looks a little rough...

We can't believe he is already one year old!! The time has gone so fast! He is such a joy and we thank God every day for this little blessing!!
