Apple Picking and a Basement Preview

We've been enjoying some beautiful fall weather here and, of course, we had to get some apple picking in. Luckily, we found an orchard half way between us and our dear friends from the seminary, so last Friday we met them for a morning of apples and pumpkins!

And they're off!

Nora enjoying an apple... we let her gnaw on it a bit throughout the day

Matthias and MaryJane finding the apples deep within the branches

Matthias and Audrey. Any guesses as to the wedding date?

Young love in the apple orchard

When we met the Grulkes MaryJane was only 5 months old. Now there are five kids in the mix!!

One year ago at our baby shower...

A year later. Two adorable pumpkins!

"Hey, Judah... whatcha doin over there?"

"Well, you see, Nora, this is a pumpkin."

The placing of the hands on a pumpkin.
Probably an engagement ritual in some culture some where.

And a little preview of the colors in the basement. They are working on putting in the drop ceiling. We have the doors and trim waiting in the garage... hopefully within a week we'll be done! So... the colors! Now this was taken at night with very poor lighting right now.. but we still really like the colors and can't wait to see it with the trim and carpet and lighting!

The bedroom... a light grey color

The family room. The linoleum is in. Carpet is coming soon!
The "blue" is actually more of a cool teal looking color which I love!

We have a tub! And yellow walls! Wainscoting here we come!
