After six weeks of intense induction to parenthood, we decided to take some time with each other doing something we enjoyed - cooking! So we packed up Matthias and sent him downstairs to the neighbors. Then we put on some Italian music and pretended we weren't in America anymore. The resulting feast:
| Melon and Proscuitto |
| Artichoke Bruschetta |
A bottle of wine we got in Italy.
100% Sangiovese Chianti from Tuscany! |
| Making pasta |
| Pasta drying in the background |
| The results - fettuccine with clam sauce |
Lemon pudding cake - not something we had in Italy, but darn good anyways.
Gelato would have taken too long to make, so maybe next time. |
To make a great night even better, Matthias gave us a little gift - his first time sleeping through the night! He slept from about 8:45pm - 3:45am; he ate and slept for 3.5 more hours! Needless to say, he was one happy boy this morning.
A little video of smiles and talking. He has managed to control his arms enough to suck on his hands some, but then loses control and flails a bit.
