Ummm... All of June?

So I guess this post will probably cover most of June since I both didn't take many pictures and didn't post much. In my defense I was kind of waiting to get some pictures from my mom's camera... which I still haven't done, but I did get plenty of pictures this past week when Matthias and I were at Whippoorwill Resort with my mom's family! Elden had to stay behind for most of the week to do VBS at church, but did join us on Friday. It was a fantastic week with some rain, but that didn't stop the kids from enjoying the sand and water.

First, one shot before we left. We finally found a carrier for Matthias -- for only $25 at Once Upon a Child!!! Matthias loves his new ride!

It didn't take long at the lake for Matthias to find his life jacket. He remembered it from swimming lessons and was eager to get out on the boat!

Grandpa took us for Matthias' first boat ride. He enjoyed cruising around the lake and especially liked finding the loons and their babies.

He got a cool wagon for his birthday from Aunt Jess and Uncle Josh so he had to pull it all around the cabin. Also note in this shot that Grandpa is wearing his official "Lake George" shirt. Every year that we went to the lake for the past 31 year this shirt has made an appearance.

All of the first and second cousins (minus Perrin) enjoying happy hour.

Matthias loved hanging out with Gretta...

And Grandpa who took him for many many walks while mommy did things like shower :)

And we discovered that sand is fun! He was content to play in this sand boat for quite a while during the day.

Tate joined in the fun... after devouring some cherries :)

He and Maggie hung out a lot

Dipping his toes in the lake. He never got super excited about getting in too far, but enjoyed getting his toes wet.

Driving the pontoon with Uncle Pete.

And of course wearing the infamous Uncle Pete hat :)

Standing at the beginning of the Mississippi river at Lake Itasca State Park. He wasn't keen on getting in at first, but watching his cousins convinced him that it was fun

Standing on rocks is great!!

The family on the Mississippi... hard to believe that in a few weeks we'll be moving back down the Mississippi to St. Louis!

And of course, a Lake Itasca malt was in order to complete the visit.

Daddy came to us!!!! Lucky for him he was there for the only pure sunny day and boy did we make the best of it! Lots of play time on the beach and boat rides!

And getting cleaned off in the sink (no tub in the cabin) was a nightly ritual.

One bonus of the life jacket -- it has a handle! Perfect for a little boy who likes to run on docks (and see the ducks!)

His official Whippoorwill shirt is a little big, yet, but that promises lots of years to come.

The end of a great week!! Matthias had so many new experiences and started babbling a lot more (probably to keep up with his cousins) including Ot-sz (outside), di-di (diaper) and duk-sz (ducks or docks... take your pick). Can't wait to get back up north!!!
