Easter and Such

Happy Easter!! We enjoyed a nice quiet Easter here in STL which will probably be our last "quiet" Easter for quite some time. But before we get to Easter... let's talk about the 10+ inches of snow we got the week before. Eek! Matthias did enjoy getting to play in some big piles and he and daddy made a pretty cool snowman. He also loved being pulled for rides in the sled :)

I've been wanting to make and Easter tree, like we used to do when I was little, for a couple years, but we finally got around to it this year. Matthias was a pretty good helper.

The night before Easter we made cut out cookies... decorating would follow on Easter...

After the unsually late snow the week before, I was nervous that Easter would not be very pleasant. However, it was a beautiful sunny and warm-enough day! After braving 7:00am church (interesting to say the least) we managed to get a few pictures of the kids.

Matthias got his Easter basket -- a treat, bubbles, chalk, and bath foam animals!

Then we called Grandma and Grandpa Kohn while we opened the package that they sent.

A stuffed monkey and monkey construction pj's for Matthias, new pj's and teether for Nora!

And an Easter bib! Thanks gma and gpa!

Then we went for a nice Easter walk. We decided that Nora was big enough to sit up in the stroller. She loved it so much that she fell asleep :)

We walked down the fountain to see the ducks and blow some bubbles...

Matthias loves his new tricycle that we found for him. Can't quite pedal yet, but loves being pushed on it!

After naps for all (even mom and dad!!! Thanks kiddos!) we enjoyed some more outside time, crab cakes for supper, and then came the cookie decorating. This might be the only bite of cookie that Matthias actually took. Instead he took advantage of mom and dad letting him do "whatever he wanted" with the frosting... which meant just eating it off the knife. Happy Easter little guy. Jesus loves you... eat some frosting :)

And in other news. Nora LOVES her little dolly that Uncle Seth and Aunt Kim got for her for Christmas. It is the perfect size to hug and chew on :)

Matthias braved the razor! Mommy finally let dad do some touch-up work on his neck after a haircut. He was pretty intrigued by it.

And then came the day that mommy has been waiting for since Matthias was born. He helped do the dishes!!!!!!

And it was time to make the switch for Matthias... to a big boy bed!!! He loves it. He has figured out that he can get out, but has only tried once. And the good news... he can't get his bedroom door open, so even if he does get out, he is still contained :)

Testing out the big boy bed!

Spring is here and we are loving it! We are in the final stretch of our time here with only 26 days or so until Call Day!!! We're trying not to think about it too much and just enjoying the nice weather and doing some fun STL things.
Happy Easter! Christ is Risen!!
