Meeting Great-Grandma Eleanor

Nora finally got to meet her namesake... her great-grandma Eleanor. We ventured up to MN for what was supposed to be a 4 day stay with one day of travel on either side. Well, we had to leave a day early to avoid some snow... and then we ended up stranded in IA for a night, making the whole journey a full week. It was a lot of fun, though, and Matthias thoroughly enjoyed his time with grandma (a-mama) and grandpa (a-papa).

Nora also got to meet her Uncle Seth and Aunt Kim when they came over from SD for a visit. They brought their dog Sarge and Matthias wore that poor puppy out! They played "chase" in the kitchen and if Sarge stopped playing Matthias got quite upset.

Matthias got some big smiles out of great-grandma

Nora and Grandpa Hinz spent a lot of time walking around throughout the week

Daddy enjoyed vacation naps in the afternoon with Nora...

... and some fun in the snow with Matthias

And the drive home... we got stuck in Waterloo, IA. The upside was that we were stuck in an area with a lot of shops, so we went to Target and got Matthias a swimsuit and a pool toy.

Ready for the pool!

... but the pool was COLD! and Matthias was not happy :(

... so he watched daddy for a while and then opted for a warm bath back in the room.
